What we collect and why

When you book a tour

When you book a tour, we receive your name, your email address and the answers you give: what brings you to Inqubator, which stage you're at, your business and website if you share them, what would help you most and when you'd like to come by. We use this to plan your tour, reply to you and follow up afterwards. We do this because you asked us to.

Your request reaches us as an email at info@inqubator.nl. You also get a confirmation by email.

When you sign up for our monthly letter

You can sign up in the footer, on the Founder stories page or with the tick box when you book a tour. We then receive your email address and use it only to send you our monthly letter, with founder stories and news from the startup world. We do this because you gave your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every letter, or by emailing info@inqubator.nl.

Your sign-up reaches us as an email at info@inqubator.nl, and you get a confirmation by email. We then add your address to our mailing list on Substack, which sends the letter.

When you email us

When you email us, we receive your email address and what you write. We use it to answer you.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with Metricool. When a page loads, your browser fetches a tiny image from Metricool. Metricool then receives technical details such as your IP address and your browser and device, and sees that someone visits our site. Metricool sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. We only see counts, such as the number of visits and which country they come from. We do this because we want to know how the site is used, so we can improve it (our legitimate interest).

Delivering the website

Our hosting provider Vercel delivers this website. To show you the pages and protect the site against misuse, Vercel's servers process technical details such as your IP address and browser.

Cookies

This website doesn't place cookies. After you book a tour, your first name is kept in your browser for a moment, so the thank-you page can greet you. It's never sent to us, and it's gone when you close the tab. If you came to the site through one of our links (for example from Instagram), the browser also remembers that link's label for the visit. It's only sent to us with a tour request or a sign-up, so we know which channel brought you.

Who processes your data for us

These services process data on our behalf:

  • Vercel, which hosts the website (United States)
  • Resend, which sends the emails from this website (United States)
  • Substack, which sends our monthly letter (United States)
  • Microsoft, through our IT partner, for our email at info@inqubator.nl
  • Metricool, for the visitor statistics (Spain)

We never sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep tour requests and emails for up to 2 years after our last contact. If you become a member, the agreement you sign with us says how long we keep your details. If you signed up for the letter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Metricool keeps the visitor statistics for as long as we use Metricool. Vercel keeps technical logs for a short time only.

Your rights

You can ask us to see the personal data we have about you, to correct it or to delete it. You can also ask us to limit what we do with it, object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email info@inqubator.nl or write to Stichting Incubator, Zaailand 106, 8911 BN Leeuwarden. We'll answer within one month.

Are you younger than 16? Then a parent or guardian needs to give permission before you share your details with us.

Complaints

Not happy with how we handle your data? Let us know first, so we can try to fix it. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Other websites

This website links to other websites, such as our members' sites and the startup visa application form. This statement doesn't cover those sites. Check their own privacy statements.

Changes

When the website changes, for example when we add new forms, we update this statement. The date at the top shows the latest version.
